Sustainable Life for Women and Children Foundation (SLIWAC) is an organization that is voluntarily working in Katsina State Nigeria since 2014 and officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2021 as “Incorporated Trustees” under Part F, Section 823 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020 with registration number 156525 and special control unit against money laundering under Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in accordance with the provisions of section 5 (1) (a) and (4) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 on the perspective of building and strengthening a healthy society with strong focused for adolescent girls, women, and children through evidence-based strategies. The organization supported the sensitization of teachers and communities on the effects of gender based violence as it affects girls’ enrolment and quality learning, mentoring of teachers on the use of activity based teaching method for improved foundational skills and sensitization of communities on the judicious utilization of locally available resources for improved nutrition.
Objectives
- To prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence, Exploitation, and Abuse
- To Improve foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, through formal and non-formal settings (Access, retention, and quality learning) especially among adolescent girls
- To empower adolescents to make decisions about their future lives through increased access and utilization of sexual reproductive health
- To Improve the nutritional status of community people with special emphasis on children, adolescents, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
- To support women economic empowerment for self-reliance
